Beckman Beckman needed to put in place a two year maintenance plan for a piece of medical equipment. An important part of the configuration was a 3-Com, ISA network card, but on calling 3-Com, Beckman were informed that the card was no longer being manufactured. At this point rather than turn Beckman away without a resolution, they recommended calling CUETECH because of our well earned reputation for finding hard-to-find and obsolete 3-Com products. Beckman estimated that several thousand were needed and that they had to be new. CUETECH successfully found the product in the quantities required.
A hospital had a hard drive fail in a piece of medical imaging equipment. They called the OEM, but found the “specialized” hard drive, plus the service cost to install it, to be exorbitant. When the hospital technicians pulled the failed drive they found it to be a standard Seagate drive, but with proprietary firmware. On calling Seagate it was discovered that the drive was no longer in production and, as is often the case, Seagate referred the hospital to CUETECH The drive had to be found quickly. While the equipment remained non-operational, the hospital was losing money. Through our worldwide network of suppliers we managed to find the exact drive. We confirmed that we had the proprietary firmware and shipped the drive overnight, saving the hospital several thousand dollars in repair costs and lost diagnostic time.
